What is Semax?
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) derived from the ACTH(4-7) fragment, modified to resist enzymatic degradation while retaining and enhancing its central nervous system effects. Developed in Russia in the 1980s by the Institute of Molecular Genetics, Semax has been extensively studied in the context of nootropic pharmacology, neuroprotection, and cognitive enhancement in preclinical and clinical research settings.
